A big focus of OKC is volunteering at events that support and grow our league and the larger kickball community. For many of these events, the league receives funds back from the event organization as a result of our participation. Each OKC team is required to complete 6 credits (minimum) of volunteer work by the end of the season, but you're encouraged and welcome to volunteer even more!
Official OKC event volunteer shifts range in credits from ½ to 2+, though most tend to fall in the 1 credit range. See below for credits by volunteer hours. There are also opportunities to volunteer at the field each week.
There will be prizes for the team and individual with the most credits at the end of the season.
Please also notify the OKC Volunteer Coordinator once you have signed up, so we can track you and your team's OKC volunteer credits for the year. Please make sure that you attend any shift that you sign up for, as you are representing OKC. If you should need to cancel any shift that you have signed up for, please notify us as far in advance as possible.

Additional Volunteering Ideas and Potential Credit
If you have an idea for a volunteer event that is not an official OKC event listed below, but would like to involve OKC, please email oregonkickball.volunteer@gmail.com. In general, we look for three things in volunteer hours for OKC:
- The activity benefits OKC financially. That is, the charity or non-profit makes a donation to OKC for our involvement. In that sense, it's also volunteering for our league to help keep fees low and fund our social activities. (Example events: Sunday Parkways, Shamrock Run, can collection, etc.)
- It advances or promotes kickball as an activity and sport here in our area. (Example event: Starlight reffing)
- It is a pre-approved event that brings people in our OKC community together at the same event (>4 or so at least) for a non-profit cause in-keeping with OKC values. Event participation should be offered to the rest of the league wherever possible.

Can and Bottle Returns
Help us collect the can and bottle return bags after games each week and earn credits! Each weeknight shift is worth 1/2 credit and the Saturday shift is 1 credit. The Volunteer Coordinator will coordinate with you to hand off the bags, or they can be returned to the field the following week. Help us recycle and bring in some additional funds for the league!

BBQ Shifts
We need 2 teams on each doubleheader day to work the 12:00 & 1:00 BBQ shifts helping with setup and cleanup. Teams will get one credit for each 4-person shift. Only teams with 11:00 games will be able to work the 12:00 shifts.
BBQ shifts for the second double header are scheduled through the social team. Keep an eye on the newsletter and social for updates!

Duties: Breakside Brewery is actively looking for volunteers to either help pour beer, or primarily check in guests and verify IDs at the front area.
This event is their big anniversary party every year. We usually see about 1000-1500 people, with a portion of the days' sales being donated to Woodlawn Elementary School. They will also have Street Dog Hero onsite bringing adoptable dogs to help find them new homes.
