Reffing for Kickball Without Borders

Engineering Without Borders is hosting their annual kickball fundraiser on Saturday, August 21st. This is an event of engineers & companies fundraising to help bring clean drinking water to communities in need.

7am-5pm (ish), several shifts needed

Ref shifts are 9am-4pm; they need about 7 refs right now

They will feed you and refresh you

I can inquire about some of the earlier set up and registration shifts that are shorter if anyone would like to volunteer for those.

Please email oregonkickball.volunteer@gmail.com or DM Danika if you would like to sign up. Bethanyforan@gmail.com is our contact; she shared a spreadsheet with us I can add you to.

TERRAPIN events is holding The Dog Days Of Summer Series 🐶☀️

These events will take place Wednesday evenings in August at Mt Tabor Park. It is a series of 5k runs or walks that are dog-friendly! They'll have lots of goodies for the pups, and for the humans. It should be a really fun event!

Volunteers are needed to help with the course monitoring, packet pickup, and finish line festivities. You can see shifts and sign up below. If your desired volunteer shift is full, you can still sign up to walk with your pup!

Shifts are between 430pm - 9pm and vary by responsibility.

Sign up here: https://runsignup.com/Race/Volunteer/OR/Portland/DOGDAYOFSUMMERSERIES?fbclid=IwAR3JNNm-Axfr8U74lzWwkkm8GxCa-Jxl4iCh6w8_7FhCRZnmpqQHRMXlU8Y

When you sign up, please let Danika know so she can keep track of who volunteers and when. Terrapin does not email us so we need to be able to verify who we volunteers. When you sign up for a shift, put Oregon Kickball Club as the organization you are supporting. This is one of our paid volunteering events so it is extra important that we get credit for these volunteering shifts.

Friends of Trees

Their calendar is still pending, but there will be group opportunities on Saturdays. Sometimes they even have extra trees at the end of the day that you can take home and plant in your own yard. In the meantime, check them out and see if your home qualifies for a free tree to be planted. If you do find volunteering opportunities, make sure to tell Danika and take pictures!
